FinTechNZ’s largest Working Group, InsurTechNZ, continues to grow and mature. Over the last few months Jason Roberts (Co-chair) and Ian Cormack (Co-chair) have developed thought leadership in this sector with help of members, and we’re looking to seeing the influence InsurTechNZ has in this space continue to grow.
Bridging the Gap
The most recent InsurTechNZ event was called Bridging the Gap, which focused on enabling collaboration and business opportunity between InsurTechs and financial incumbents. Presentations from Intelligent Life, Callaghan Innovation, Suncorp and Augen Software Group were well received by the audience of over 80 attendees. In addition, we had a great panel sharing their views and perspectives. My personal favourite was the presentation by Annabelle Thompson from our host Suncorp, outlining the work their team has done to promote diversity with younger professionals.

NZ InsurTech landscape report
EY, MBIE and InsurTechNZ have teamed up to develop New Zealand’s first ever InsurTech landscape report. The purpose of this project is to help identify, open up and connect the wider ecosystem of InsurTechs, incumbents and technology partners to stimulate further growth and opportunities.
